Please check out my latest paintings of tropical Landscapes and Birds, my primary focus over the past month of July. I feel very fortunate to have been able to travel around Guatamala and Belize with my family. It has provided my with lots of inspiration to paint tropical rainforests, jungles and birds, along with other landscapes. The colours and lushness in particular, captured my imagination. I was inspired by many trips such as seeing the sunrise on top of Mayan temples and going on a fantastic early morning bird watching walk. We managed to see 3 types of toucans, parrots and many species of hummingbirds along with many other birds at Black Rock Lodge. You can find out more about some of the birds by clicking here.
I set myself a challenge of creating a painting a day which I just about managed. But the holiday feeling and creativity didn’t stop when we returned. I’ve continued enjoying painting more jungle and bird scenes. In the last week I have been experimenting with more semi-abstract depictions. I also plan to create some collages after I’ve done a day of geli printing. They are between a5 and a4 in size and all of them are for sale, from £45 to £70. I will be bringing them along to Ealing Beat, where I’ll be exhibiting on 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th September, in W7 Emporium, a wonderful cafe in Hanwell.
