Trees in Water in brown and grey, Atmospheric Watercolour landscape

£260.00

Trees in Water in brown and grey is one of a series of Atmospheric Watercolours using limited palettes.

Inspiration

I was inspired by photos that I took as well as a stunning photo taken by a photographer friend, David Gordon. They captured the trees in the flooded lake in  Osterley Park, West London. Osterley House is one of the last surviving country estates in London and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, park and farmland. The architect and designer Robert Adam designed the building in the late 18th century.  The Child family lived there and entertained and impressed many of their friends and clients.

Technique

I created this painting by building up layers of paint in many washes. This helped produce a smooth transition of browns and greys. In addition, the sparse trees growing out of the flood water is a reminder of the strength of nature in the face of adversity.

Trees in Water in brown and grey will attract nature lovers who like minimalist and atmospheric paintings with limited palettes. Furthermore, this painting brings a timeless serenity, bringing a sense of calm to any room in your home.
