As an experienced primary school teacher for over 20 years and a local artist, I decided to bring my skills together and start an after-school Art Club which has been a great success.
The classes are taking a break for the summer term but will resume in September. Please email me if you’re interested in your child joining us.
Each week w7 Art Club has had a simple focus. Eg, colour mixing, landscape painting, printmaking and collage. My intention is an art club where children can relax, have fun, build self-expression, self-esteem and creativity, and most importantly, be themselves.
The classes in September will be for children in Years 4, 5 and 6, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3.30 pm until 5 pm upstairs in the w7 Emporium café, Hanwell. W7 Emporium is a lovely sized creative space. It’s warm and well-lit and is just a lovely place to be (for parents and children).
There may be a few ‘one off’ holiday sessions over the summer. If you think your child would be interested in this, or joining the w7 Art Club in September, please contact me here.
Susie leads a painting class at SAFE SPACE (part of MIND) ‘Drop in’ facility by Deans Gardens, West Ealing. Having suffered from mental health illnesses, and utilised Mind’s ‘Safe space’, Susie is keen to come full circle and help others through art therapy. The classes aim to provide a safe space to express yourself through art with like-minded people.
Susie runs an online art group for adults who have had any type of substance misuse issue and are looking for a creative outlet. Each week Susie bases the session on a theme, which is decided upon by the clients during the previous session. It’s a free drop in service, so people can decide on the day if they’d like to join.
Groups run through Zoom, every Tuesday from 11-12:30 (the group opens 15 minutes early to give clients time to get ready or have a chat). For more information, and login details, click here.
